  Italy is the world's 3rd biggest exporter of footwear items. Italian leather footwear is popular among the global market. Last year, Italy's footwear exports went up by 21%. According to Italy import export data , the footwear exports of the country hit a record $16 billion. Italian footwear items saw huge demand from European and US markets.  France was the top importer of footwear items from Italy accounting for around $2.5 billion during FY 2023. Whereas, USA's footwear imports from Italy reached $1.6 billion in the past year. The fastest growing markets for Italian footwear exports were Germany, China, Spain and the United Kingdom.  Also, there was notable growth seen in the footwear exports to the Netherlands and Poland.  As per Italy export data , footwear exports across the Netherlands and Poland were estimated to be $440 million and $351 million respectively.
