Tanzania's gold exports hit record $2.8 Bn in 2023

Tanzania is blessed with the abundance of precious stones and metals. Tanzania had ample amounts of natural resources such as gold, tanzanite, silver, copper, nickel, graphite, uranium and iron ore. Tanzania has large reserves of gold as it is among the leading exporters of gold across the international market.  According to Tanzania import export data , the country's gold exports were over $2.8 Billion in 2023. During May, the highest amount of gold exports were recorded in Tanzania as it crossed $510 million. India and South Africa were among the biggest importers of gold from Tanzania contributing to over 65% of the country’s overall gold exports last year.  Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates were also the significant contributors to Tanzania gold exports revenue responsible for 26% share. Tanzania's coffee exports grew by 7.5% in FY 2023

  Tanzania is among the top coffee exporters in the world. Tanzania coffee exports had seen magnificent growth during this fiscal year. Tanzania export data shows that there were record coffee exports made by Tanzania during FY 2023. Tanzania's total coffee exports were totaled to be $32 million during this year with an increase of 7.5%.  Turkey was the top market for Tanzania's coffee imports. For the fiscal year 2023, Turkey has imported over $2 billion with over 60% share in Tanzania's overall coffee exports. After Turkey, Kenya was the second leading exporter of coffee globally with over 33% share. There were other noticeable increases in Tanzania's coffee exports to Denmark, Belgium and Finland. According to the Tanzania import export data , the top Tanzania coffee export companies were BSBM group, Amir Hamza, Lima Kwanza and Kagera Co-operative Union were the top coffee exporters from Tanzania.             ...

Tanzania's berries exports to Israel up by 16%

  Over the years, Tanzania has developed a crucial trade relationship with Israel. According to the Tanzania import export data reports, the exports to Israel were totaled to be $12.24 million during FY 2022. Tanzania's exports to Israel are increasing at the rate of 7% annually. Coffee, Fish fillets, Gold, Precious Metal Scraps, Platinum, Ropes and Jutes are some of the key exports of Tanzania to Israel. Fish fillets were the most demanded products from Tanzania in the Israel market with a share of over 40%. Whereas, Coffee was the second most exported product from Tanzania to Israel contributing to over 24% share. Precious metal scraps and Gold were responsible for 13% and 10% share in Tanzania's exports to Israel during FY 2022. In recent years, the demand for Tanzanian  berries in the Israeli market has increased significantly. Tanzania reduces its onion exports to Kenya

  Onions are the major export products of Tanzania. Tanzania does a significant amount of onion exports to its neighbouring countries like Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, etc. According to the Tanzania customs data reports, around 29 million worth onion exports shipments were recorded in the financial year 2021.  As compared to the last year Tanzania import export data of 2020, there was an increase of 35% in overall onion exports shipments of the country. In FY 2021, Tanzania's total onion exports shipments were estimated around 3.5 million dollars. The major contributors to the Tanzania onion exports were Uganda, Burundi, Comoros, Kenya, DR Congo, United Kingdom, Botswana, Oman, and Montenegro. Uganda holds the maximum share of Tanzania's onion exports contributing to over 95% share. The total value for Tanzania's onion exports to Uganda was over 3 million dollars in FY 2021. Tanzania's coal exports hit record $225M

  Tanzania has rich coal deposits. Tanzania has over 1.9 billion tonnes of coal reserves. According to the Tanzania customs data , around 225 million dollars of coal exports were recorded from Tanzania in the financial year 2023. There was a tremendous amount of jump in exports of coal from Tanzania. Over the years, coal exports from Tanzania have increased significantly. In 2021, it was 13 million dollars. While as per Tanzania import export data , last year coal exports were merely 22 million dollars. This year, Tanzania's coal exports increased by 780%. Reason being the disrupted coal supply in Europe due to the Ukraine-Russia war. Tanzania has come out as the alternative to Europe's energy crisis. The major markets for Tanzania’s coal exports are Kenya, Uganda, Congo, Rwanda, Poland, Senegal, India and Hong Kong.
