Tanzania's coffee exports grew by 7.5% in FY 2023

Tanzania's total coffee exports were totaled to be $32 million during this year with an increase of 7.5%.

According to the Tanzania import export data, the top Tanzania coffee export companies were BSBM group, Amir Hamza, Lima Kwanza and Kagera Co-operative Union were the top coffee exporters from Tanzania. 

             

During the last fiscal year, Tanzania’s majority of the coffee exports were to Kenya having over 96% market share. Whereas, the United States was another key coffee exporter to Tanzania. African Galleria Kibaoni Area and Amir Hamza T Limited were other top coffee exporting companies from Tanzania during last year.

In terms of imports, Tanzania’s coffee imports were merely $100 thousand during this year. South Africa was the top coffee exporter to Tanzania. Tanzania import data shows that the country has exported over $81 thousand worth of coffee exports to Tanzania. It accounted for over 80% of Tanzania's overall coffee imports this year. Zanzibar was a significant coffee exporter to Tanzania with 5% share.

Whereas, last year, Tanzania imported only $3 thousand worth of coffee. Zanzibar was the only exporter to Tanzania responsible for over 98% share of Tanzania's coffee imports. National Union of Coffee Agribusiness and Farm Ent was the leading coffee exporting company to Tanzania responsible for over 80% share in Tanzania's overall coffee imports. 

Dormans Coffee Limited, Lavazza, Concord International Group FZE, Diversey Europe Operations BV, and Dina International General Trading were other major coffee exporters to Tanzania. Coffee has always been a crucial commodity in terms of Tanzania’s exports growth.
