UAE's cut flowers imports hit record $69 Million
Last year, cut flowers were in great demand among the UAE’s market. UAE has made a considerable amount of cut flower imports in 2023. According to the UAE import export data reports, the country’s cut flowers imports hit a record $69 million during FY 2023. 35% of the UAE's overall cut flower imports came from Kenya. These basically include dried, dyed, bleached, impregnated or otherwise prepared cut flowers and buds for bouquets and ornamental purposes. Kenya has exported over $26 million worth of cut flowers to the United Arab Emirates. Whereas, the Netherlands was the second leading market for cut flowers imports contributing to over 30% market share in the UAE. The Netherlands is currently the world’s leading supplier of flowers across the world. India was the third biggest cut flower importer having over 5.6% share.
