Indonesia eases the ban on live cattle imports from Australia
Over the years, Indonesia has emerged as the biggest market for Australia's live cattle exports. As per Indonesia import export data reports, around 303k live cattles were imported from Australia last year. Whereas, this year, the live cattle export shipment crossed over 155K. Indonesia customs data shows that the country's cattle imports totaled to be $564 million in FY 2022. During this period, Australia was the only country responsible for over live cattle exports to Indonesia. These include beef, cluding calves, buffalo and purebred breeding. Beef was the most imported live cattle imported by Indonesia from Australia with worth over $362 million responsible for over 70% share in the Indonesian imports. Whereas, cladding calves imports were totaled to be $148 million along with 28% share.
