China to raise its wine imports quota from Australia

  Australia and China have strengthened their ties over the past years. Last year, China imported a significant amount of goods from Australia. According to China import export data , the bilateral trade between the two has reached $212 billion in 2023. In which, Australia has dominated with more exports compared to China. As per China import data , China has imported over $125 billion worth of goods from Australia in 2023. Iron ore was the most imported item by China from Australia contributing to over 55% market share. Petroleum gas, gold and other minerals were other significant imports by China from Australia with 11%, 8% and 4.6% share respectively. Other major demanded Australian items in the Chinese market were copper, nickel, wheat, wool, meat, wine, etc. Australian wine sees rapid growth across the Chinese market. India recorded $628 Mn worth of diamond exports in 2023

  India is the biggest diamond exporter in the world. India is the largest market for the raw diamond, stones, jewellery sets and other diamond related products. India import export data shows that around $25 billion worth of diamond exports were recorded during fiscal year 2023. In Jan 2024, India recorded an exceptional $628 million worth of diamonds.  During fiscal year 2023, India's most of the diamond exports went to Hong Kong and the United States contributing to 80% of India's overall diamond exports. Exports share wise, other major markets for India's diamond were Belgium (9.8%), United Arab Emirates (2.7%) and Thailand (2.3%). Also, there was a significant rise in India's diamond exports to Israel, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Australia during last year.   Forestry products are the most prominent exports of Vietnam. During the first two months of 2024, Vietnam has reported record sales. According to the latest Vietnam import export data , the country's forestry products exports hit a record 2.8 billion dollars. Vietnam's forestry products are progressing at the rate of 45% annually. In 2023, Vietnam’s overall forestry exports are estimated to be $12 billion. These were mostly wood and its articles. Vietnam export data suggests that over $5.6 billion worth of wood and its articles exports were made during fiscal year 2023. These include wood chips, wood scrap, plywood, bamboo, timber, flooring, laminated wood. Australia's electronics imports 2023 overview

  Australia is a prominent importer of electronics items. Australia imports a considerable amount of consumer goods to meet growing demand. According to Australia import export data reports, the country’s electronics items imports were recorded to be $27 billion in 2023. As compared to $25 billion worth electronics imports in 2022, there was a significant decline in the electronics imports by Australia. China was the most favoured destination by Australia for electronics imports. It is derived from the fact that Australia has imported nearly $15 billion worth of electronics items from China. China accounted for 50% share of Australia's electronics imports. The USA and Vietnam were two other major electronics suppliers to Australia during 2023. As per Australia import data , the electronics imports from the USA were recorded to be $3 billion while Vietnam stood at $2.2 billion. Also, Australia has shown interest in electronics imports from Germany, Malaysia, Mexico and South Korea.

USA's copper scrap exports fell in 2023

  The United States is the leading exporter of copper, waste and scrap. Although, the USA's copper scrap exports declined by 5% during last year. According to the US import export data , the country's overall copper scrap exports were recorded to be $5 billion dollars in 2023. The United States accounts for over 15% share of the global copper scrap market.  In 2023, the biggest market for USA's scrap copper exports was China which amounted for 37% market share. The US export data shows that over 360,936 tonnes of scrap copper shipments were recorded for China in 2023. Whereas, Canada was the second leading market for scrap copper exports with over 105,700 tonnes of shipments in 2023.  As compared to 120,364 tonnes shipments in 2022, there was a significant decline in the US scrap copper exports to Canada.   Germany is the world's biggest cheese exporter. Although, during last year, Germany's cheese exports declined by 7% to 36 million pounds. According to Germany import export data reports, Germany's cheese exports were recorded to be $6 billion during the financial year 2023. Italy was the top destination for Germany's cheese exports in 2023 accounting for over $1 billion worth.  Along with Italy, Netherlands and France were other major importers of cheese from Germany for over $750 million and $480 million worth of cheese imports. Among the fastest growing markets for Germany's cheese exports were Austria, Spain, Belgium, Romania, Greece and Poland responsible for significant growth in cheese imports.   Over the years, India’s plastics and its articles exports saw a formidable amount of growth. According to India import export data reports, in 2022, the country’s overall plastics and its articles exports stood at $38 billion. Whereas, this year, India’s plastics exports crossed the $40 billion mark with a sleek 5% of increase.  There were a wide range of plastics items exported by India in the last fiscal year. Spain's fresh fruits & vegetables exports hit 16.5 Bn Euros in 2023

  Spain offers a pleasant climate and diverse variety of fruits and vegetables. Spain's most produced fruits and vegetables items are oranges, avocado, mangoes, figs, persimmon, cantaloupe, nispero fruits, etc. Spain import export data shows that around 16.5 billion euros worth of fruits and vegetables will be exported during 2023.  As compared to fiscal year 2022, Spain’s fruits and vegetables exports dropped by 6%. There was a decline of 11 million tonnes in comparison to FY 2022. The biggest markets for Spanish fruits exports were Germany, United Kingdom, France and Netherlands. Germany was the biggest importer with 28% share in Spain's fruits exports.   Once the biggest energy supplier of Europe, Russia's exports to Europe saw significant downfall this year. After engaging in the war with Europe and rising sanctions from the west, Russian exports to Europe are highly impacted. This resulted in Russia's reliance on exports to Asian countries. Russia import export data shows 70% increase in exports to Asia along with 68% growth in Asian imports. Whereas, across the European market, Russia's exports saw a significant decline of 28% during fiscal year 2023. Russia export data suggest that exports to Europe were estimated to be $420 billion during last year. As compared to last year, there was a significant drop of $84 billion with 65%.   Italy is the second biggest market for eyewear exports after China. Italy is known for producing high quality eyewear products. According to Italy import export data , around 2.8% increase in the eyewear exports from Italy has been recorded as compared to fiscal year 2022. Italy has exported a record 110 million pairs of eyewears. These were mostly sunglasses and optical frames. Italy export statistics shows that around 67 million of them were sunglasses and the rest of them were optical frames. Italy eyewear exports during fiscal year 2023 were estimated to be $3.6 billion. During the first half of 2023, Italian eyewear exports saw rapid growth whereas in the second half, the exports contracted.
