Australia's electronics imports 2023 overview
Australia is a prominent importer of electronics items. Australia imports a considerable amount of consumer goods to meet growing demand. Epson Australia, Ge Grid Australia and Polycab Australia were among some of the renowned electronics import companies from Australia in 2023. Whereas, the leading electronics export companies to Australia were Samsung Electronics (Vietnam), LG Electronics (Indonesia) and Philippine Batteries.
Computers and its accessories accounted for 13% of Australia's overall imports. Australia customs data suggests that around 39 billion worth of computer machinery were imported during fiscal year 2023. The most favoured markets for Australia's computer imports were China, USA, Malaysia and Singapore.
In terms of electronics exports, Australian exports of electronics were up by 9%. According to Australia export data, the overall electronics exports from Australia were estimated to be around $3.9 billion in 2023. Whereas, it was $3.5 billion during 2022. New Zealand and the United States were among the top electronics items importing countries from Australia last year.
New Zealand and the United States were responsible for $1 billion and 630 million worth of electronics items imports from Australia during last year. Whereas the fastest growing markets for Australia’s electronics items exports were United Kingdom (6%), Singapore (4%), United Arab Emirates (3.5%) and China (3.2%) respectively. Noja Power Switchgear, Inner Range and Freedman Electronics were the leading electronics export companies from Australia responsible for the maximum number of shipments last year.
