Turkey's scrap metals imports up by 6.8 MMT in 2024

  Scrap metals are the prominent imports of Turkey. Turkey's scrap metals imports surge during fiscal year 2024. According to Turkey import export data , the scrap metals imports of Turkey went up by 2.5% and are estimated to be 6.8 million tons. On a year on year basis, Turkish scrap metals imports are growing at the rate of 7%. In the Q1, Turkey's scrap metals imports were recorded to be $2.9 billion. In the April month, Turkey imported nearly 1.5 million tons of scrap metals. During this period, Turkey's most favourable markets for scrap metals imports were the United States, Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom. The United States, which is the world's leading exporter of scrap metals, was the biggest supplier to Turkey. Turkey's fruits & vegetable exports hit record $212 Mn in April

  Turkey is among the leading exporters of fruits and vegetables globally. Turkey is the biggest exporter of hazelnuts and fids. As per Turkey customs data , the overall fruits and vegetables exports from Turkey hit a record $212 million in April 2024. Experts predict Turkey's fruit market to reach 2.6 billion euros in 2024 with 9% expected annual growth rate. In the fiscal year 2023, Turkey's fruits and vegetables exports sales bombed. According to Turkey import export data , the country's fruits exports went up by 8.5% last year. Turkey's fruits exports were recorded to be $5.4 billion in FY 2023. Turkey's pistachio exports surge to $74 Mn in Q1 of 2024

  Turkey is the 3rd biggest exporter of pistachios in the world. Turkey made record pistachio exports last year. According to Turkey import export data reports, Turkey's pistachios exports were estimated to be around $318 million during the financial year 2023. As compared to $257 million worth of pistachios exports in 2022, there was a notable increase in the pistachios exports from Turkey. Turkey export data suggests that Italy, Germany and Iraq were the leading pistachios importers from Turkey. Italy recorded $56 million worth of Turkish pistachios imports last year followed by Germany ($47 million), and Iraq ($45 million). Although, there was a slight decline in the exports to Italy with a sharp increase in exports to Germany and Iraq. The fastest growing markets for Turkish pistachios exports were Libya, Jordan, Syria, Israel, Iran and Kazakhstan.   Turkey has exported over $289 billion worth of goods during last year. Turkey has made record exports in 2023. Among Turkey's top performing sectors was furniture, paper and forestry goods. According to Turkey import export data reports, over $5.6 Billion worth of furniture items were exported from Turkey in 2023.  Among Turkey's most prominent markets for furniture exports were Iraq and Germany. These accounted for nearly 20% of Turkey's overall furniture exports. Turkey exported over $9.3 B worth of goods to Spain in 2023

  Turkey has always been the most prominent market for the imports from European countries. The EU has always been the top importer of Turkish goods. Among the EU, Spain has emerged as the top trading partner of Turkey. As per Turkey import export data reports, over $9.3 billion worth of goods were exported to Spain. Compared to fiscal year 2022, the exports to Turkey had excelled at a rapid rate. Turkey's automotive sector was the biggest hit which earned $2.3 billion from the Spanish market.   Turkey's leather exports were on rise during the financial year 2023. It has seen record growth as compared to last year. According to the Turkey import export data reports, the country's leather exports recorded over $58 million in 2023. These include mens jackets, leather belts, leather trousers, faux leather, lambskin leather, leather patches, men's coats, natural leather, etc. Leather jackets were the most exported items from Turkey accounting for over 50% share of exports. Turkey export data shows that Tajikistan was the top importer of Turkish leather goods with over $8 million worth of leather imports. Germany was the second biggest destination for Turkish leather exports with imports over $6.5 million. Turkey made record gold import from Switzerland this year

  Switzerland is one of the key trading partners of Turkey. The recent Turkey import data shows that Turkey's gold imports from Switzerland have seen whopping growth this year. Over 56 tons of swiss gold was imported by Turkey in the last month. It is the highest value recorded ever in 11 years.  According to the Turkey customs data , the total gold imports from Switzerland were almost $10 billion swiss francs last year. Switzerland is the third most favoured market for Turkey's gold imports. Turkey is emerging as the major durum wheat export market

  Turkey is slowly progressing towards becoming the leading durum wheat exporter. This year, Turkey has a high yield of durum wheat in comparison to the top durum wheat exporter, Canada. Turkey had produced over 4.2 million tonnes of durum wheat in 2023. Turkey's durum wheat exports are progressing at an express rate. It could become a major force in the export market.   Turkey is a prominent steel industry. It is the 8th largest importer of steel globally. Whereas, it is ranked 4th leading steel exporter in the world. Steel industry covers over 8.3% share in Turkey’s overall exports.   As per Turkey customs data reports, the country’s overall steel exports were estimated to be around $19.6 billion during 2022. However, it fell by 17% as compared to $23 billion in 2021.
