Bangladesh vegetable exports drop by 60% during FY 2023

  Over the past three years, Bangladesh vegetable exports declined significantly. According to Bangladesh import export data , the country’s vegetable exports during  2021 were estimated to be around $271 million. Whereas, in 2022, it came down to $131 million while the latest reports, the exports were $68 million during 2023.  Bangladesh vegetable exports decreased by 60% as compared to previous year. This is due to the shortage of cargo space and lack of scanners at the country's airports. Also, during the covid pandemic, the vegetable supply has been affected. This resulted in the decline of vegetable exports from Bangladesh.  Bangladesh's key vegetable exports includes lemons, potato, root vegetables, cabbages, cauliflowers, Snake gourd, broccoli, and terragon products. Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka were the most prominent markets for Bangladesh vegetables. Experts predicts 10% growth in India's coffee exports

  India has been famous for its tea from ancient times. India is known to grow high quality beverages. Over the years, India's coffee exports have seen significant growth. Indian coffee has great demand in the international market especially robusta coffee. According to the India import export data reports, over $7.8 billion during the last fiscal year.  During March 2023, the highest amount of coffee export shipments from India were recorded. The United Arab Emirates was responsible for over 70% of India's overall coffee exports. India customs data shows around $5.8 billion worth of coffee exports were made to the UAE in 2023. Libya was the second biggest exporter responsible for over 8% of India’s total coffee exports.   The Philippines has fine reserves of nickel and copper. The Philippines lies on the leading nickel and copper exporters globally. The Philippines is the world's biggest exporter of nickel. Apart from electronics, electrical equipment and seafood, nickel and copper are the most exported items of the country.  Amid rising interest in the EV sector, the demand for nickel is constantly rising. The Philippines is the most prominent market for nickel exports. Pakistan's fruits and vegetables exports FY 2023 overview

  2023 has been a positive year for Pakistan as far as the economy is concerned. Pakistan’s exports have been promising during last year. Pakistan’s fruits and vegetables have shown positive growth. As per Pakistan customs data, the overall fruits and vegetables from Pakistan were recorded to be $479 million in 2023. The United Arab Emirates has been the top contributor to Pakistan’s overall fruits and vegetables exports. Pakistan has made a remarkable amount of fruit exports in 2023. According to the Pakistan import export data , over $279 million worth of fruits exports were made by Pakistan in 2023. Mangoes remained the top most exported product from Pakistan. UK's soybeans imports hit record 895MMT during 2023

  The United Kingdom is the 17th biggest importer of soybean meal across the global market. According to the UK import export data reports, around $577 million worth of soybean meal were imported during fiscal year 2023. Over 895 MMT of soybean meal import shipments were made during last financial year. As compared to $717 million in the previous year, there was a sharp decline in the soybean imports by the United Kingdom.  The UK's majority of the soybean meal imports came from Argentina which is the leading soybean meal supplier in the world. The Netherlands was the second leading soybean meal exporter to the United Kingdom followed by Paraguay, United States and Brazil. Brazil and Canada were the most favoured destinations for UK's soybean meal imports.  Feed Factors from the United Kingdom was the leading soybean meal importer accounted for the maximum number of shipments. Botswana imposed ban on South Africa's fruits imports

  The Botswana government is likely to put more emphasis on reducing imports in order to restrict its imports. Botswana has restricted its fresh fruits and vegetables from South Africa till 2025. This decision is taken in the wake of reforming its agricultural sectoz  1`r and forbidding the reliance on imports.  This might impact Botswana's trade relations with South Africa. South Africa is a significant supplier of fresh produce to Botswana. This will create heavy loss to South African farmers. France's apparel imports from China hit record $9 Billion in 2023

  During fiscal year 2023, France has made a significant amount of apparel and clothing accessories imports. According to the France import export data reports, around $9 billion worth of textiles imports were made. This was the record apparel imports made by France as compared to $7.8 billion during fiscal year 2022. France clothing imports includes women's, mens clothing, shawls, jackets, coats, rugs, etc. China was the leading textile exporter to France in 2023. China held over 18% share in France overall textiles imports. Brazil's fruits exports up by 10% in 2023

  Fruits and vegetables are the major exports of Brazil. During the fiscal year 2023, there was a surge in the exports of fruits from Brazil. According to the Brazil import export data reports, around 996 thousand tonnes of fruits were exported from Brazil during last year. As compared to the previous year, there was a 10% increase in the fruits exports to Brazil and estimated to be around $1.34 billion in 2023. Brazil’s top fruits exports include Mangoes, Limes, Apples, Bananas, Avocados, Guavas, Pears, and watermelon. Brazil export data reflects that there were over 36 thousand tonnes of apple shipments by Brazil during last year. There was a 24% increase in the apples exports from Brazil which is estimated to be around $36 million in 2023. Whereas, Brazil's oranges exports saw a 652% increase and shipped around 2.5 thousand tonnes in the last financial year.   During the fiscal year 2023, Argentina's blueberries exports decreased by 25%. According to the Argentina import export data reports, around 6500 tons of blueberries were exported in 2023. As compared to 8,200 tons exports during 2022, there was a significant decline in the blueberries exports. The United States was the leading blueberry buyer from Argentina.  Argentina export data shows that the USA has made over 982 blueberry shipments and accounted for 37% of the country’s overall exports. The Netherlands was the second leading importer of blueberries from Argentina with over 500 shipments during last year. Germany, Israel, Spain, Indonesia , Hong Kong and Canada were other major markets for Argentina's blueberries exports. UAE's cut flowers imports hit record $69 Million

  Last year, cut flowers were in great demand among the UAE’s market. UAE has made a considerable amount of cut flower imports in 2023. According to the UAE import export data reports, the country’s cut flowers imports hit a record $69 million during FY 2023. 35% of the UAE's overall cut flower imports came from Kenya.  These basically include dried, dyed, bleached, impregnated or otherwise prepared cut flowers and buds for bouquets and ornamental purposes. Kenya has exported over $26 million worth of cut flowers to the United Arab Emirates. Whereas, the Netherlands was the second leading market for cut flowers imports contributing to over 30% market share in the UAE.
