Brazil's fruits exports up by 10%

 
Fruits and vegetables are the major exports of Brazil. During the fiscal year 2023, there was a surge in the exports of fruits from Brazil. According to the Brazil import export data reports, around 996 thousand tonnes of fruits were exported from Brazil during last year. As compared to the previous year, there was a 10% increase in the fruits exports to Brazil and estimated to be around $1.34 billion in 2023.

Brazil’s top fruits exports include Mangoes, Limes, Apples, Bananas, Avocados, Guavas, Pears, and watermelon. Brazil export data reflects that there were over 36 thousand tonnes of apple shipments by Brazil during last year. There was a 24% increase in the apples exports from Brazil which is estimated to be around $36 million in 2023.


Whereas, Brazil's oranges exports saw a 652% increase and shipped around 2.5 thousand tonnes in the last financial year. On the other hand, Brazil's banana export shipments dropped to 30% in 2023 and are estimated to be around $25 million. Grapes exports were accounted to be around $724 million during last fiscal year.


Mango, which is the top most exported fruit item from Brazil, accounted for over 280 MMT of exports in 2023 with over 20% year on year growth. Brazil’s fruits exports were mostly to Uruguay, Colombia, Panama, United States, Liberia and China. Agricultural Schio, Torres Tropical, Fresh Box, Partners Network and Rasip Alimentos are the top fruits export companies from Brazil. 


Rio Grande Do Norte was the top fruit exporting state from Brazil comprising 25% share of Brazil's overall fruits exports. Whereas, Pernambuco, Bahia, Ceara and Sao Paulo were other major fruit exporting states from Brazil. In terms of fruits imports, Brazil’s top fruits imports include hazelnut, gooseberry, apricot, walnut kernels, melons, cherries and plums. 


Last year, Brazil's citrus fruits exports were valued around $174 million while the imports recorded to be $34 million. Brazilian citrus fruit demand was majorly in the European market. The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain and Slovakia were the top importers of fruits from Brazil. Whereas, Brazil's citrus fruits imports came from Spain, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and Egypt.


Brazil import data shows that the country’s fruits imports reached over $7.2 million during last fiscal year. Brazil's most favoured destinations for fruit imports were Chile, China, Spain, United States and South Korea. Ferrero Trading, Manibom Comercial, and Chocolates Garoto were the top fruits import companies from Brazil.
