Zambia, Africa’s Second Largest Copper Producer
Zambia is Africa’s second largest copper producing country after DR. Congo. Globally, Zambia is the 7th largest exporter of Copper. According to the African countries import export data , Zambia accounts for over 70% of the total African copper production. As per the Zambia trade data reports, 850,000 million tonnes per annum copper was produced in 2022. It is the most exported commodity from Zambia. Copper covers around 60% of the total country’s exports. Our Zambia customs data suggests that Zambian copper exports were around 8.3 billion US Dollars in 2022. Copper exports from Zambia grew by 3.4% as compared to the financial year 2021. In 2021, Zambian copper was 7.7 billion US Dollars and 5.6 billion US Dollars in 2020.
