Blueberry exports from Argentina dropped by 25%

During the fiscal year 2023, Argentina's blueberries exports decreased by 25%. According to the Argentina import export data reports, around 6500 tons of blueberries were exported in 2023. As compared to 8,200 tons exports during 2022, there was a significant decline in the blueberries exports. The United States was the leading blueberry buyer from Argentina. 

Argentina export data shows that the USA has made over 982 blueberry shipments and accounted for 37% of the country’s overall exports. The Netherlands was the second leading importer of blueberries from Argentina with over 500 shipments during last year. Germany, Israel, Spain, Indonesia , Hong Kong and Canada were other major markets for Argentina's blueberries exports.


Argentina customs data suggests that the UK was the fastest growing market for Argentina's blueberry exports with an increase of 1800%. Whereas exports to Canada, USA and European Union were up by 250%, 111% and 4% respectively. On the other hand, the demand for Argentinian blueberries among Asian countries dropped to 50%. China has shown less interest as the blueberries exports decreased to 32%.


Expofresh and Early Crop were the top blueberries export companies from Argentina responsible for over 32% share. Gramm Agropecuaria, Extrabeeries, and Agroberries were other major blueberries suppliers from Argentina. Whereas, Argentina’s blueberries imports were merely 3 million dollars during last year.


As per Argentina import data reports, 90% of the country’s overall imports came from Chile which is among the top blueberries exporter globally. Tanus Jalil E Hijo and Diar SA were among the top blueberries import companies from Argentina. The leading markets for the blueberries exports are the Netherlands, Spain, Chile, United States and Morocco. 


Cranberries, blackberries and Raspberries were other prominent exports of Argentina. All these recorded a significant decline during last year. Argentina made most of these exports to the Netherlands, the United States and Israel. Israel has become the fastest growing market for these exports. Whereas, most of the berries imports came from Chile which is the leading market for berries globally.


Whereas, Argentina's cherries exports were over 6,000 tons during the last financial year. Argentina's cherries exports were mostly to the United States, China, Spain and middle eastern countries. Whereas, Argentina's cherries imports were estimated to be $3.8 thousand in 2023. These imports were mostly from Chile which contributed to over 100% share in the country's overall cherries imports. Dole Nat Co and Tanus Jalil E Hijo were the leading cherries export companies from Argentina accounting for the maximum number of shipments.
