France's apparel imports from China hit record $9 Billion in 2023
 During fiscal year 2023, France has made a significant amount of apparel and clothing accessories imports. According to the France import export data reports, around $9 billion worth of textiles imports were made. This was the record apparel imports made by France as compared to $7.8 billion during fiscal year 2022. France clothing imports includes women's, mens clothing, shawls, jackets, coats, rugs, etc.

China was the leading textile exporter to France in 2023. China held over 18% share in France overall textiles imports. France import data shows that China has made over $2.8 billion of textiles exports to France in 2023.  Italy, Spain, Germany, Bangladesh, Belgium, Tunisia, Netherlands, India and Vietnam were the top apparel buyers from France during last year. 


Textiles Lasson, Greif Flexibles France, Thiriez Literie, Berengier Diffusion and Euro Tessile were among the leading apparel and clothing import companies from France. The leading textiles suppliers Sichuan Textiles from China, Flokser Tekstil from Turkey, Kusumgar Corporates & Torpedo Shoes from India and Adriano Di Marti from Mexico.  


France textiles exports are estimated to be around $8.4 billion during fiscal year 2023. France export data reports shows that Italy was the top importer of textiles from France with over $804 million during the last fiscal year. China was the second leading textiles buyer from France. Whereas, Germany, United States, Spain, Belgium, United Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong and the Netherlands were other significant textiles suppliers.


Manitou Group, Louis Vuitton, and TFL France were the top clothing export companies from France responsible for the maximum amount of shipments. European countries are the leading textiles importers globally. Global import export data reports show that the EU accounts for over 76% share in the global market. France is among the major markets for textiles imports. 


Apart from Apparels, France is one of the most prominent markets for leather goods. France export data shows that the country's leather items exports were over 9 billion euros whereas leather imports were recorded to be 4 billion euros during last financial year. France has made the majority of its leather export shipments to Italy which is the biggest leather importer from France followed by Spain, Tunisia. Whereas, the fastest growing market for French leather exports were China, Morocco, Portugal, Turkey, Romania, Germany and the United States. France's top 3 destinations for leather imports includes Spain, Italy and Germany. There were some noticeable amounts of shipments from the Netherlands, Belgium, India and Portugal.

Turkey's wire rod exports fell by 55% in 2023

  Turkey is a prominent steel industry. It is the 8th largest importer of steel globally. Whereas, it is ranked 4th leading steel exporter in the world.
