Indian to boost its mangoes exports to US
 India is the top producer of mangoes globally along with China. Whereas, Thailand is the leading exporter of mangoes in the world. As per import export data, Thailand mango exports are worth 826 million US Dollars. 

Around 1000 different varieties of mangoes are found in India. These include Alphonso, Kesar, Totapuri, Badami, Banganappale etc.Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh are the major regions in terms of mango exports.


According to the India import export data records, the top markets for Indian mango exports are United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. In 2022, India's mangoes export volume was around 28 thousand metric tons. There is a rise in mango exports from India as compared to last year.


As per India export data of mangoes, India's mango exports were around 59 million US Dollars in 2022. The majority of the mangoes exports were to the United Arab Emirates. Around 14K MMT of mangoes were exported to the UAE worth 15 million US Dollars.


Currently the Indian government is planning to gain its ground in the United States, Japan, European Union Nations and South Korea. Earlier mango supply to the United States was halted due to covid but as now its been resumed, the exports to the US will see an upward trend.


As per the US import data, the mango imports from India crossed 1000 MMT in 2022. Apart from that, pomegranate exports from India have taken a significant jump. While according to our India customs data reports, the pomegranate exports from India were 75 million US Dollars in 2022.


Japan has been a frequent importer of Indian kesar and alphonso mangoes. As per India trade data, Around 40 million US Dollars of mangoes were exported to Japan. Whereas, South Korea received an import volume of 2.5 MMT mangoes from India.


India is trying to explore the opportunity to expand its market to European nations. India is facing stiff competition from Peru, who has recently exported around 500K MMT of mangoes to the EU. Currently, Netherlands and the United Kingdon are the top contributors in the Indian Mangoes export market with 4-5% share respectively. 


Earlier due to failure in inspection tests, the supply of mangoes to the European countries has been halted. Now, the government is taking adequate measures to boost its mango supply to the top European nations. Future see’s a positive growth in India’s mango exports.


On the other hand, as per India import data, India's fresh fruits imports were increased 2x in 2022. Apples, Oranges, Avocados, blueberries and Cherries are the top fruits imports done by India in 2022. Iran, Turkey, Chile, Australia, Italy and New Zealand were the top fresh fruits exporters to India.

Turkey's wire rod exports fell by 55% in 2023
