Singapore eyes more poultry imports in 2023 to meet domestic demand
 Singapore is the major destination for poultry meat imports. Singapore does numerous amounts of poultry meat imports from various nations in order to fulfil its domestic market requirements. Singapore is currently the 28th biggest poultry meat importer in the world. According to the Singapore customs data reports, Singapore's poultry meat imports were estimated around 256 million dollars in the fiscal year 2022. 

Brazil accounted for the maximum number of poultry imports from Singapore in the financial year 2022. As per Singapore import data, Brazil exported around 149 million kgs of poultry meat to Singapore. Earlier, the neighbouring country, Malaysia was the crucial supplier of chicken to Singapore.

Out of which, Charoen Pokhpand was the leading Indonesian poultry meat exporting country with over 1000 tonnes of Chicken meat exports to Singapore in 2023. Australia is another most favoured market for Singapore poultry imports. 


Singapore's last year trade statistics suggests that Singapore imported around 7.5 million worth of poultry products during the financial year 2022. Singapore accounted for over 9% of Australia's total poultry produce. 


The forecasts for 2023 suggest that Singapore's poultry imports from Australia will tend to increase by 54% this year. Singapore is also investing in a green future. It is heading towards the creation of green and clean energy. Australia could be the better partner alongside which Singapore can develop clean energy. 


On the other hand, Singapore's poultry meat exports were estimated around 70 million dollars during 2022. According to the Singapore export data reports, the major destinations for Singapore's poultry exports are Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia, Argentina and Thailand. 


Although, the poultry exports of Singapore are declining in Timor-Leste, Malaysia and Austria. In terms of poultry exports, Brazil, Poland and the United States are main exporting competitors for Singapore.
