Germany's rapeseed imports hit record 5.7 MT in FY 2023

 

Germany is the leading rapeseed importer in the world. As, rapeseeds are used in the edible oil, biodiesel, and animal feed production. In terms of imports share, Belgium (7%), Norway (5%), France (4.7%), Denmark, and Poland (3.4%).

The Netherlands was the top importer of rapeseed oil from Germany with over 60% market share. 

Whereas, Belgium, Norway, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy and Austria were among most favoured destinations for Germany's rapeseed oil exports. Also, Germany is the 6th biggest rapeseed oil importer globally. Germany's rapeseed oil imports mostly came from European Union nations. These were Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, France, Netherlands, Denmark and Norway.
