Brazil's exports to Arab nations hit record $15 B in FY 2023
The trade relations between Brazil and Arab countries have prospered over the years. According to the Brazil import export data, around $15 billion worth of exports from Brazil to Arab countries. As compared to previous year’s $14 billion exports, there is a surge of 9% in the exports from Brazil to Saudi Arabia.
Poultry meat, gold, sugar, meat, wood pulp and iron ore are the key exports of Brazil to the Arab emirates. Whereas, Brazil import data, Brazil’s imports from Arab countries are recorded to be $8.23 billion during FY 2023. The major imports of Brazil from Arab countries include petroleum products, electronics equipment, sulphur, aluminium and fertilizers.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar and Kuwait are some of the most prominent markets for Brazil’s imports and exports. During this period, Brazil’s top trading companies were Ternium procurement, Vale International, Enerfo and Philip Morris Products.
Among Arab Countries, Saudi Arabia emerged as the top trade partner of Brazil. Brazil customs data reports reflect that around $2.5 billion worth exports to Saudi Arabia are made during this year. Saudi Arabia's most prominent imports from Brazil were mostly poultry meat, sugar, soybeans, coffee, gold and sawn wood. Whereas, Brazil’s imports from Saudi Arabia were recorded to be $1.5 billion. The key imports include chemical fertilizers, ammonia, propylene polymers, aluminium, and ethers.
The United Arab Emirates was the second most important trading partner of Brazil. The UAE has imported over $2.5 billion worth of products from Brazil during this year. UAE's most favoured imports from Brazil includes sugar, bovine meat, wood pulp, iron, pepper, coffee and processed tobacco.
Other significant Arab markets like Egypt, Qatar and Kuwait have seen significant increase in terms of Brazil exports this year. According to the Brazil export data, the country’s overall exports to Egypt rose to $1.8 billion this year while last year it stood at $2.2 billion. Corn, Iron Ore, Sugar, Bovine Meat, Wood Pulp and Soybeans are the top imports of Brazil from Arab countries.
Whereas, Brazil's exports to Qatar were recorded to be $600 million with crucial imports of poultry meat, iron pipes, turbines, aluminium and bovine meat. On the other hand, Kuwait has imports of over $342 million in the financial year 2023. Brazil exports to Kuwait include chicken meat and fertilizers. Brazil's poultry sector was the most growing sector showing positive growth. Brazil's poultry exports alone were $2.8 billion. There was very high demand for Brazilian poultry meat among the Arabian market. Also, a notable amount of meat exports to Libya and Lebanon was recorded during the financial year 2023.
