Tamil Nadu has become the top electronics goods supplying state of India

 India has made a significant amount of electronics items exports this year. As per India import export data reports, around $84 billion worth of electronics items were exported during this financial year. South Korea was the top importer of electronics goods from India having over 52% market share and valued around $44 billion. 

Hong Kong was the second leading market for India's electronics goods. In 2023, over $29 billion worth of exports were recorded. The fastest growing markets for electronics items exports were Nepal, Vietnam, United States, United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. Samsung India Electronics accounted for 88% of India's total electronics items exports. 

Tamil Nadu accounted for over 30% share of India's overall electronics goods exports. According to the India export data reports, the country's electronics goods exports were recorded to be $9 billion during this financial year. Tamil Nadu has made the maximum amount of electronics goods shipments during February and April, 2023. 

Whereas, over $668 million worth of electronics items exports were made in November month. Tamil Nadu’s most exported electronic goods include carbon battery, horn, switches, smartphone, power generators, electric motors, board panels and head lamps. Carbon batteries and sound devices were the top exported items from Tamil Nadu.

Carbon batteries accounted for over 50% market share and exports stood around $4.2 billion during this fiscal year. Whereas, sound devices exports from Tamil Nadu were recorded to be $1.2 billion while power generators accounted for $1 billion in 2023. 

Tamil Nadu's top destinations for electronics goods exports were Brazil, Indonesia, Nepal, the United States and Germany. Panasonic Carbon India was the leading electronics items export company from India contributing to over 50% share of Tamil Nadu's overall electronics items exports.

India import data shows that over $79 billion dollars worth of electronics items imports were made by India during FY 2023. China was responsible for over 57% of India's overall electronics items imports. China export data shows that around $45 billion worth of electronic items are imported by India. 

Taiwan was the second leading electronics items supplier to India having over 5% share in India's electronics items exports. Foxconn Hon Hai Technology, Samsung India and Oppo Mobiles were the top electronics items importer companies from India.  Apple Operations from China, Sky Royal Trading from China, Schneider Electric Industries, France were the top electronics items suppliers to India.

Apart from Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka were other major electronics items exporting states from India. Uttar Pradesh accounted for $4.9 billion worth of electronics items exports while Karnataka was responsible for $4.4 billion worth of electronics items exports.
