Vietnam is one of the biggest exporters of textiles across the global market. During the last fiscal year, Vietnam has exported textiles to over 100+ countries. Vietnam import export data suggests that there was a 9% decline in the textiles exports of Vietnam in 2023. The United States was the biggest textile importer from Vietnam. In 2023, Vietnam imported nearly $11 billion worth of textiles from Vietnam. 


Hyosung Vietnam was the leading textile export company from Vietnam with the maximum number of shipments to the USA. Whereas, Kolon Industries, and Decorative Plastic were the textiles import companies from the United States. Japan was the second leading market for Vietnamese textiles exports. 


Last year, Japan imported nearly $3 billion worth of textiles from Vietnam. Kolon Industries and JNC filter were the top textile import companies from Japan responsible for the maximum number of shipments in the last fiscal year. 


Europe was the third most favoured destination for Vietnam's textiles exports. As per Vietnam customs data, nearly $2.8 billion worth of textiles were exported to European Union countries. NBS Distribution & Osprey Europe were among some notable textiles importers from Vietnam. The United States, China and South Korea were the fastest growing markets for Vietnam’s textiles.


On the other hand, Vietnam's imports were estimated to be $25 billion during last year. Vietnam import data suggests that China was the biggest textile supplier to Vietnam with exports over $15 billion. Along with China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan were the top textiles exporting countries to Vietnam with maximum number of shipments during last year. Among the top emerging markets were Australia and Taiwan.
