USA's wooden furniture imports hit record $38 Bn in 2023

Wooden Furniture is the world's 100th most traded item. Its market is estimated around $31 billion. China is the leading wooden furniture exporter globally. The US import export data suggests that the overall wooden furniture imports of the country recorded $38 billion worth last year. According to the US bill of lading data, China was the top supplier of wooden furniture to the USA with over 1232 shipments into the USA during 2023. Among the fastest growing markets for metal furniture imports by the USA were Taiwan, Malaysia, Norway, Thailand and Vietnam. Robust USA, Smith System and Ocean Cabinets were the top metal furniture import companies from the USA in 2023.

According to the US export data reports, the country's wooden furniture exports were estimated to be around $2.8 billion during the financial year 2023. 60% of the USA's overall furniture exports went to Canada which had 60% market share. Whereas, Mexico was the second leading furniture importer of the USA with 10% share. Among the fastest growing markets were the United Kingdom, Bahamas, Netherlands, Japan and Saudi Arabia.

For the fiscal year 2023, the USA's top furniture export companies were International furniture Direct, Furniture Source International and Four Hands.
