USA's wooden furniture imports hit record $38 Bn in 2023
Wooden Furniture is the world's 100th most traded item. Its market is estimated around $31 billion. China is the leading wooden furniture exporter globally. Whereas, the United States is the top importer of wooden furniture items in the world. The US import export data suggests that the overall wooden furniture imports of the country recorded $38 billion worth last year. Around 103,593 import shipments of wooden furniture goods were recorded by the USA in the last year. 

Vietnam and China were the two biggest wooden furniture exporters to the USA. US import data shows that Vietnam and China were responsible for 35% and 21% share of US furniture imports. In terms of USA's wooden furniture import share, other major markets were India (8.8%), Indonesia (8.4%), Italy (5.5%), Malaysia (4.3%) and Portugal (2.2%) respectively. Among the fastest growing markets for US furniture imports were Norway, Brazil, and Singapore.

For the financial year 2023, the leading furniture export companies from the USA were Ikea Supply, RTG Furniture and Gigacloud Technology responsible for the maximum number of wooden furniture imports. Whereas, Stokke from Belgium, Ascension Y S Int from Taiwan and Bob's Discount Furniture from Vietnam were the top furniture exporting companies to the United States. 

In terms of metal furniture imports, the USA has received over 3775 shipments last year. According to the US bill of lading data, China was the top supplier of wooden furniture to the USA with over 1232 shipments into the USA during 2023. Among the fastest growing markets for metal furniture imports by the USA were Taiwan, Malaysia, Norway, Thailand and Vietnam. Robust USA, Smith System and Ocean Cabinets were the top metal furniture import companies from the USA in 2023.

According to the US export data reports, the country's wooden furniture exports were estimated to be around $2.8 billion during the financial year 2023. 60% of the USA's overall furniture exports went to Canada which had 60% market share. Whereas, Mexico was the second leading furniture importer of the USA with 10% share. Among the fastest growing markets were the United Kingdom, Bahamas, Netherlands, Japan and Saudi Arabia.

For the fiscal year 2023, the USA's top furniture export companies were International furniture Direct, Furniture Source International and Four Hands. Woodgenix from Mexico, Casa Miscellany from Panama and Unicorner Guyana were some of the prominent furniture importing companies from the United States in 2023.
