Poland-Pakistan Trade Hit Record $920 Million
Over the years, the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Poland has prospered. Last year, Pakistan exports to Poland grew significantly. Pakistan customs data shows record $920 million trade between Poland and Pakistan. The most traded goods between Pakistan and Poland were house linens, scrap iron, coke, leather apparel, rice, and chocolates.
According to Pakistan import export data, around $289 million worth of exports were made to Poland. There were over 13K shipments from Pakistan to Poland were recorded in fiscal year 2023. Non Knitted apparels, cotton fabrics, rice, textile materials, synthetic woven fabrics, gloves, and sesame seeds demand across Poland grew rapidly.
Non Knitted or crocheted fabrics exports to Poland were estimated to be $22 million in 2023. Whereas, rice export shipments to Poland were $12 million last year. Also, there was a notable increase in the sesame seeds exports from Pakistan to Poland last year. LPP, a leading clothing company from Poland was the biggest importer from Pakistan.
Pakistan export data shows over $31 million worth of items were imported by this company. Rol-ryż Sp Z O.o, Phu Carbotex and Kejt Gladysz were other prominent Polish companies importing from Pakistan. Among the leading Pakistan export companies were Atlas Foods, Zafar Fabrics, Rajwani Apparel and Samad Rubber Works were responsible for the maximum number of shipments last year.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s imports from Poland were $123 million during fiscal year 2023. As per Pakistan import data, over 5,913 shipments to Poland were made in 2023. Machine tools, Gas carbon, Fabrics, Dairy products and Electronics were the key imports of Pakistan from Poland in the last financial year.
Stena Metal, Vive Textile Recycling, Barry Callebaut and Tesso are some of the top Polish suppliers to Pakistan. Lucky Core Industries, Sheikhoo Sugar Mills, Amreli Steels and Frontier Foundry Steel were the top import companies from Pakistan with a notable amount of imports from Poland during FY 2023.
Over the years, Poland has become a major trading partner of Pakistan. It currently stands 8th on the list of Pakistan's top trading partners across the European market. Experts predict that the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Poland could reach $2 bn in the upcoming years.
In Quarter 1 of financial year 2024, Pakistan has exported nearly $60 million worth of goods to Poland. The top exported items of Pakistan to Poland were mostly textiles, leather, price, oilseeds, and precision instruments. Whereas, Pakistan's key imports from Poland were copper, mineral fuels, leather, ships, machine tools, and rubber articles. According to Pakistan import data, imports from Poland were estimated to be $38 million in 2024.
