Chad is a very oil rich country. The country has one billion barrels of crude oil reserves. As per the Chad customs data reports, crude oil, uranium and gold are the major exports of the country. These products contribute over 90% of Chad's total exports.

In 2022, Chad's economy grew by 1.2% as compared to 2021. As per the Chad import data, the country's total imports were around 5.2 billion USD in 2021. The major imports of Chad were medicines, electronics, electrical equipment and Vehicles mostly imported from China, France, India and United Arab Emirates.


On the other hand, Chad's total exports are worth 4.5 billion US Dollars for the fiscal year 2021 as compared to 1.5 billion US Dollars in 2020. Exports grew at a rapid rate in Chad due to rich crude oil reserves.


Chad's main import products were gold, oil seeds, crude petroleum, cotton and agricultural produce. Chad's top agricultural exports are sorghum, peanut butter, yarn, maize, millet, sugarcane and cassava. China, Germany, Taiwan, UAE and France were the fastest growing markets for Chad's exports.
