Bangladesh and India both share healthy trade relations. As per the Bangladesh customs data, Indian exports to Bangladesh were around 16 billion US Dollars in 2022. On the other hand, there were around 2 billion US Dollars exports from Bangladesh according to the Bangladesh export data reports.

Crude Oil is among the most traded goods from India to Bangladesh. Our Bangladesh import export data suggest that around 7.5 million metric tons of crude oil is imported from India to Bangladesh. There was around 18% increase in crude oil imports of Bangladesh.

The Top Crude Petroleum Oil exporting companies to Bangladesh are Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, China’s PetroChina, Dubai Emirates National Oil Company, India’s Numaligarh Refinery, Indian OIl Company and Indonesia’s pt bumi siak pusako.


Trade Experts suggest that gas oil imports through this route will be 250,00 million metric tons per year. And for the next five years, it would be 400,00 million metric tons per year.


Bangladesh-India Trade Analysis

As per India export data, Cotton, Cereals, Vehicles, Mineral Fuels, Organic Chemical, Plastics and Sugars were the top product exports of India to Bangladesh. According to the Bangladesh shipment data, the total imports by Bangladesh were estimated to be 16 billion US Dollars in 2022.
