Rise in Demand of Durian Fruit in Chinese Market
 Durian fruit is the most selling fruit in China. Over the years, the demand for durian fruits has increased in the Chinese market. Apart from Durian fruits, there was a surge in imports of bananas, coconuts, cherries, mangoes, dragon fruit, longans etc.

According to the China import export data reports, China's fruit imports are worth around 15 billion US Dollars. The value for these imports rose by 8% and shipments volume  by 4% year on year. As per China customs data, around 7 MMT of fruits were imported in 2022.


China import data for Durian fruits reflects that China is trying to slow down its durian fruits imports. For the fiscal year, there was a decline of 5% in Durian fruit imports. As per the last year China trade data reports, the durian fruits imports were 4 billion US Dollars. In 2022, it came down to 3.87 billion dollars. For Dried Fruits, China is the largest importer of Dry Fruits in the world. Most of the imports come from Thailand, Pakistan, Vietnam, Turkey and the United States. Fresh Cherries


China's lure for fresh cherries is growing by 45% year wise. For the fiscal year 2022, fresh cherries imports by China was around 2.24 billion US Dollars. Chile was the top fresh cherry exporter to China responsible for over 95% of China's total cherry imports. Other major importers were the United States, New Zealand, Argentina and Canada.


Fresh longan


For the fiscal year 2022, China's longan fruits imports were less as compared to the last year. As per the China shipment data reports, the imports were around $824 million with a total shipment volume of 900K million metric tons. Thailand was the top supplier of fresh longan fruits to China in 2022.


Dragon Fruit


As per the import export data reports globally, Dragon Fruits imports from China were estimated to be around 507 million years in 2022. The total shipments were around 568K million metric tons. Thailand was the top exporter of Dragon fruits to China followed by Vietnam and Ecuador.
