Russia exported $1.2B seafood to Japan in FY23
Russia is a well known sea food exports market. According to the Russia import export data reports, seafood exports from Russia were up by 30% in the financial year 2022. Russia's sea food exports hit 8 billion dollars. Russia exports to over 60+ countries. The top importers of Russian fish were South Korea, Japan, China, Norway, Germany, Netherlands and Poland.
As per the Russia export data records, Russia marine exports to Japan were all time high of 1.2 billion dollars. For the financial year 2022, Russia's exports to Japan were around 12 billion dollars. The top product exports by Russia to Japan were Petroleum products, natural gas, coal, platinum and aluminium. On the other hand, Russia's imports from Japan were estimated to be 9.8 billion dollars in FY22. According to the Russia trade data, the top product imports by Russia from Japan were Motor Vehicles, Rubber Tyres, Chemicals and Heat Engines.
Similarly, Marine exports by China to Russia were up by 51% in the fiscal year 2022. China import data reflects that around 1.2 billion dollars of seafood imports were made by China from Russia. While our Russia import data suggests that China's sea food exports shipments to Russia were around 39K million metric tons.
In 2022, China and Russia did record trade of 190 billion dollars. LPG exports from Russia to China were up by 50% in 2022. According to the China import export data, China's exports to Russia increased by 18% as compared to the last year. Whereas, Imports from Russia to China had seen a positive growth of 34%. The major product exports from China to Russia were Computers, Motor Vehicles, Broadcasting Equipment etc. On the other hand, Coal, Crude and Refined Petroleum were the noticeable imports by China from Russia.
Russia's fish exports had seen tremendous growth. The total exports rose to 33% year on year increase. Our Russia customs data suggests that Russia's fish exports to South Korea are worth 2.1 billion dollars followed by Netherlands (1.4 billion dollars), Japan (651 million dollars) and China (1.2 billion).
For the financial year 2022, Russia fish exports to European countries increased by 20% with over 195K million metric tonnes. The total worth for European countries' imports of seafood from Russia were around 1 billion dollars. Around 4.4 billion tonnes of seafood imports were made by European countries. Netherlands, Poland and Germany were the top importers of seafood from India in FY22. Also, the liquified petroleum gas exports to European countries rose to 20% in FY22. Russia's petroleum products exports to European countries were 33 million metric tonnes.
Also, Russia did a significant amount of marine exports to African countries in FY22. Nigeria was the top importer of Russian fish goods with over 20K tonnes shipments.
