Russia, "the world's largest wheat exporter"
Russia is the world's biggest wheat importer. Russia contributes around 14% of the global wheat exports. Whereas, the United States, Canada, Australia, Ukraine and France are other leading wheat exporters after Russia. As per Russia Trade Data , the country's total wheat exports were 15% more as compared to the fiscal year 2021. In 2021, Russia's wheat exports were estimated at around 8.8 billion dollars. Whereas, these figures have changed to 13 billion dollars in 2022. In the earlier months, these wheat exports had declined due to the Ukraine invasion. Later from July to December 2022, Russia's wheat exports gained momentum. During last year, it crossed 47 million metric tonnes. Our Russia export data reflects that Egypt, Turkey, Nigeria, Azerbaijan and Suadi Arabia were the major buyers of Russian wheat.
