Indonesia to reduce its garlic imports up to 40% by next year
Indonesia is a prominent importer of agricultural products. Indonesia is the world's leading garlic importer. It is shown from the fact that the country's overall garlic imports were around $68 million as reported by Indonesia import export data 2022. China was the top supplier of garlic to Indonesia accounting for over 98% share. Singapore, France, Russia and Malaysia were other significant garlic suppliers to the global market. Andalan Alam Pertiwi, Koperasi Inkoppol and Luthfi Samudera Rezeki were the top Indonesian import companies responsible for the maximum amount of garlic import shipments. Whereas, Indonesia export data reflects that the country's fresh garlic exports were nearly $2.2 million in the fiscal year 2022. Green herbal Indonesia and Bagus Perdana were the leading garlic suppliers from Indonesia responsible for over 56% share of Indonesian garlic exports.
